My sister Sarah has no hands, she and I took a trip to Chicago so that she could get her mind off of her cheating exboyfriend and we were aproached by a man letting us know about a hand transplant surgery conference the following day. because she was busy pursuing this path, her exhusband decided it was prime time for him to fight for custody of their son. Sarah had to drop everything concerning the hand transplant. Now she is fighting for custody of her son. She has no income and is a full-time student and has to come up with money for an attorney. Maybe someone out there has ideas of how to do this… I want to help my amazing sister, but all I know how to do is write.

This is a poem I wrote for her in 1998:

Sarah Jeanne…
Balance out your hour glass
and live each grain of sand.
Don’t grow old too quickly
Still take time to hold your sister’s hand.
You’ve moved so far away now,
But our love reaches over land.
God put us here together sis,
our bond is stronger than any golden band.
No matter what twists your life takes,
never let your happiness be erased
with each new year you live
remember God’s precious grace.
and no matter what else you forget
never forget your faith.

I wrote that for her when she was moving to Germany to marry her exhusband that is now trying to take her son away. She is a beautiful person, to know her is to love her and be encouraged by her.
